As of 1 April 2018, SANDEN International Europe Ltd, SandenVendo and SANDEN Environmental Solutions are merged into SandenVendo. The Japanese company also announced that heat pump activities will be gradually phased out, in order to make room for this revised strategy.

“We believe that the recent consolidation of our operations shall generate substantial synergies and operational efficiencies,” said Yasushi Yoshida, senior manager at SandenVendo Internationale-SandenVendo Europe.  “It will benefit customers through an expanded product portfolio and improved service capabilities.”

This move aims to strengthen the firm’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) assets to focus more in the field of cold chain and foodservice business. The company announced its objective to remain the number one vending-machine manufacturer in the world and become a European leader in refrigeration and cold chain management.

“This commercial refrigeration equipment was developed utilising Japanese technology where its quality has been endorsed by Sanden’s retail business experience in Japan, and in the US and Asian markets over a long period of time. As an outcome of the reorganisation, we are confident in accomplishing our ultimate goal, that of catering to our customers’ needs and expectations,” Yoshida said.

With a plan to make CO2 condensing units one of the key growth drivers of the new combined offer, SANDEN expects to service a wider range of sectors, including retail, hospitality, catering and the food industry.

SANDEN’s reorganisation comes at time of a rapidly increasing market share for CO2 refrigeration solutions in Europe to comply with HFC phasedown regulations, and specifically with increasing demand for condensing units for small and medium-sized refrigeration solutions.
