Japanese OEM Hoshizaki has acquired Italian commercial ice-maker manufacturer Brema, according to a press release issued on January 18.
“With the addition of Brema to our group, we aim to become the No. 1 commercial ice-maker manufacturer in Europe,” said Hoshizaki.
The acquisition of Brema will be carried out through Hoshizaki’s European subsidiary Hoshizaki Europe Holdings.
Brema offers products that use propane (R290), isobutane (R600a) and CO2 (R744) – part of its corporate strategy to be environmentally responsible and observe environmental legislation in Europe.
“To guarantee increasing commitment to environmental sustainability, Brema Ice Makers has chosen to embrace the voluntary Regulation (EU) No 517/2014 on fluorinated greenhouse gases, encouraging its customers to use solutions with zero-impact or low-impact on the climate and the earth’s temperature,” Brema says on its website.
Hoshizaki debuted an isobutane (R600a) commercial refrigerator for the Japanese hotel and restaurant sectors at the HOTERES Japan 2020 exhibition, held in Chiba, Japan, in February 2020.
HOTERES Japan 2022 will be held next month, with several new natural refrigerant-based products expected to be exhibited.
