Nidec Global Appliance, a Japanese manufacturer of residential and commercial appliances with 11,000 employees in nine countries, appointed Guilherme Almeida as the new president of its worldwide operations, which include Embraco refrigeration solutions.
In 2006, Almeida started his career with Embraco as an engineering intern in Research and Development. From that time, he worked in Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Controlling and Marketing, including four years at the company’s facilities in China.
The Nidec Corporation acquired Embraco in 2019. With Embraco’s integration into the Nidec Global Appliance platform, Almeida became the Strategic Planning and Institutional Relations Vice-President, managing global mergers and acquisitions, business intelligence, strategy development and new business opportunities. In April 2022, Almeida was appointed Deputy President of Nidec Global Appliances.
As President, Almeida is responsible for Nidec Global Appliance’s Platform, aiming for growth of its home and commercial appliances business segments, and collaborating with Nidec Appliances, Commercial & Industrial Motors (ACIM) leadership team and goals,” said Nidec in a statement. Nidec ACIM is a business unit inside Nidec Corporation that comprises the Nidec Global Appliance, Commercial & Industrial and U.S Motors business platforms.
This appointment seeks to support “Nidec Global Appliance’s position and initiatives in innovation, energy efficiency and environmental sustainability,” added Nidec.

Tarazano took a new position at the company as Senior Vice President of Nidec Corporation and CEO & President of Nidec ACIM.
