Lithuanian manufacturer Freor’s propane (R290) commercial refrigeration cabinet IDA S will be showcased for the “first time ever” in the U.S. at the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) 2023 Exposition in Atlanta, Georgia, October 4–6.
“Freor’s participation in the NACS show is an excellent opportunity to promote environmentally friendly and energy-efficient commercial refrigeration equipment and solutions to the USA market,” Freor said in a press release.
The company’s IDA promotional display cabinet series, including the IDA S, was recently listed on Topten, an online guide for energy-efficient natural refrigerant products. The unit is available with either an open top or glass covers, which can “save up to 50% of the energy typically lost with open commercial refrigeration equipment,” Freor indicated.
The continuous cooling technology used in Freor’s cabinets, developed in conjunction with Italian component producer Carel, can reduce energy consumption, according to Rytis Bernatonis, Founder and CEO of Freor. “In medium-temperature cases, energy savings can be up to 30%,” he said.
The plug-and-play IDA S unit, situated on wheels with blocking kits, “is designed to stimulate impulse purchases, with its 360° merchandise visibility,” the company said, adding, “It is a perfect cooling solution for any retail space, including convenience stores and product launches or promotions.”
The IDA S will be at the Excellence Industries booth 6735 in exhibit hall C at the NACS show at the Georgia World Congress Center. “Freor is thrilled to have the opportunity, with the help of our partner, Excellence Industries, to present an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient cooling solution like IDA S to the new market,” the manufacturer noted in its announcement.
Freor invited end users to the 2023 NACS Expo, stating that “with over 1,200 exhibitors, it provides the opportunity to meet new suppliers and discover innovative retail products.” The exhibits are broken into five categories: facility development and store operations; food equipment and food service programs; fuel equipment and services; in-store merchandise; and technology.
Headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania, Freor “manufactures almost 20,000 units of refrigeration equipment annually,” according to a company You Tube video.
The company’s other R290 cabinets include its JUPITER model, a multideck large-capacity chiller, and ERIDA, an upright freezer. Both units are listed on Topten and operate in a glycol-loop system called Hydroloop that removes the heat of condensation from cases.
