Focusing on commercial refrigeration, Brazilian multinational compressor manufacturer Embraco will showcase an extended natural refrigerant product portfolio for food retail, food service and merchandiser applications at this year’s Chillventa.
“At Chillventa, we will be presenting our complete portfolio in natural refrigerants with alternative solutions to customers that haven’t yet migrated to hydrocarbons,” said Daniel Campos, Embraco’s global sales director.
The show, held in the German city of Nuremberg every two years, is the world’s largest HVAC&R tradeshow. For this year’s edition taking place on 16-18 October, Embraco intends to present a new business approach – shifting from product to solution-oriented.
“Over the years, Embraco has begun to look at innovation from the outside-in perspective, by understanding the challenges and needs of its customers and then developing technologies,” said Embraco President Luis Felipe Dau.
“The company is focused on providing a complete platform that combines compressors, services, and high quality and performance solutions,” Dau added.
“Chillventa is an opportunity for the company to exhibit our global experience and expertise with solutions that feature natural refrigerants.”

New solutions for food retail
In food retail, the company will showcase hydrocarbon-based solutions for supermarket and convenience store applications, such as self-contained reach-ins, frozen islands and cold rooms.
Embraco’s Plug n’ Cool self-contained unit, for example – which uses propane as the refrigerant, is a complete cooling solution for reach-in cabinets and is typically used in supermarkets and convenience stores.
In food service, the company’s hydrocarbons range targets restaurants and bars, and includes equipment for professional kitchens, icemakers and cold rooms.
Embraco invests 3-4% of its net revenue in R&D annually. “We are constantly investing in research and development going towards creating the most innovative cooling technologies that contribute to people’s quality of life,” said Campos.
“Chillventa is an opportunity for the company to exhibit our global experience and expertise with solutions that feature natural refrigerants and how we are changing the industry to provide sustainable and energy efficient portfolio,” he said.
