Brazilian refrigeration technology manufacturer Embraco, which is part of Nidec Global Appliance, has announced it is developing a new brand positioning and portfolio strategy that will support its efforts to double its net sales in five years.
The company plans to transform the refrigeration market with a focus on integration, synchronization, efficiency and data intelligence.
“We understand it is our responsibility to develop solutions that reduce energy consumption, emissions of CO2 and the use of raw materials,” says Embraco on its new micro-site.
The company has said that its repositioning is aligned with demands from the refrigeration market, which is facing stricter environmental regulations due to climate change.

“This new positioning comes to reinforce our usual capability to anticipate the customer’s needs through smart products, as well as our pioneer in variable speed technology and natural refrigerants,” said Guilherme Almeida, President of Nidec Global Appliance. “It reflects our commitment and solid plans for the future, including launches that incorporate component synchronization, added to a wide range of compressors and condensing units for household and commercial refrigeration.”
Part of Embraco’s new strategy will involve offering a wider range of “smart solutions for the cold chain” and transforming its portfolio to bring “more connectivity, high performance, miniaturization and noise reduction.”
It will also support the manufacturer’s efforts to become a “complete solution provider,” expanding its offering beyond just components. This move was first highlighted at the Chillventa trade show in October 2022 when Embraco showcased its propane (R290)-based indoor condensing unit and other complete refrigeration systems. Traditionally, the manufacturer focused on compressors.
“We have been responsible for shaping market trends for the last five decades by bringing solutions beyond the compressor, and we are thinking ahead to strengthen our responsibility to continue doing so and to keep transforming the industry,” said Almeida, who was appointed president of the company in early 2023. “Significant launches are coming to achieve these goals.”
More information about Embraco’s new strategy and product portfolio will be shared in early 2024.
